Sunday, June 20th: Family Days-Then, Now, & Forever
All activities take place at Marseilles School except Opening Ceremonies
  • 12 Noon: Opening Ceremonies will take place on Main St. & Washington
  • 9am: Doors open to bring in auction items (up to 50), donated & consignment in Large Gym, or call Dale Maltas to register ahead of this day at 815-795-9375
  • 2pm: Community Auction (donations/consignments) in Large Gym. 
  • 2pm-5pm: Antiques Appraisal Fair w/ Appraisers. $5/ appraisals
  • 2:30pm-3:30pm: Puppetshow & Storytelling for Children/Marseilles Public Library
  • 3:30pm-5pm: Old-Fashioned Children’s games/Marseilles Youth Program
  • 3:30pm-5pm: Masonic Child Identification Program (CHIP)
  • 3:30pm-7pm: Spaghetti Dinner in Cafeteria

Monday, June 21st: PT Barnum Circus Days
Activities take place at Rivershores Care Center, the Pool, and Knudson Park
  • 1pm-3pm: Swimming Pool Games/ Marseilles Ambulance Service
  • 3pm-5pm: Family Pet Day Games & Activities with Circus Theme/Contests at Rivershores Care Center/ Marseilles Youth Program & Pet Project
  • 5pm-8pm: “Circus Fun Games” at Knudson Park. Music, “Matt the Magician” show, Clowns, Face Painting, Inflatable Fun, Miller Petting Zoo (sponsored by Kathy Kocher). Grumpee’s Weenie Wagon will have for purchase Hot dogs/Brats/Pork Chop Sandwiches/Lemon Shake-Ups. Also CP’s Ice-Cream & Popcorn Vendor

Tuesday, June 22nd: Gold Rush Days
All Activities take place at Knudson Park
  • 3pm: Children/Adult Food Eating Contests 
  • 3pm-5pm: Children’s Gold Rush Action Game/ Marseilles Youth Program
  • 3pm-5pm: Adult Panning for Gold Contest 
  • 3pm-9pm: Wild West Shooting Gallery. Pay to Play $1 for 15 shots
  • 3pm-9pm: Face Painting
  • 6pm-8pm: Antique Fire Truck Rides/ Marseilles Fire Dept.
  • 3pm-9pm: Grumpee’s Weenie Wagon will have for purchase Hot dogs/Brats/Pork Chop Sandwiches/Lemon Shake-Ups. Also CP’s Ice-Cream & Popcorn vendor
  • 7pm-9pm: Campfire Sing-A-Longs/Storytelling with Bill Myers

Wednesday, June 23rd: Chuck Wagon Days
Activities take place at Knudson Park and Washington St. Tent/Stage for Senior Night/Orchestra:
  • 12 noon: Children’s Chuck Wagon Picnic at Knudson Park. Food served by Marseilles Police Department
  • 1pm-5pm: Children’s Bike Registration at Knudson Park by Marseilles Police Department
  • 1pm-2pm: Children’s Decorated Wagon Contest Parade at Knudson Park/Marseilles Youth Program
  • 2pm-5pm: Children’s Horse & Buggy Carriage Wagon Tour Rides
  • 1pm-5pm: Wild West Shooting Gallery at Knudson Park
  • 5pm-6:30pm: Senior Night (60 years+) at Washington St. Tent. Seneca FFA Pork Chop Dinner for $8.  (Family members welcome to attend w/ Senior) & Jerry Armstrong Entertainment from 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • 6:30pm: Seneca FFA Pork Chop Dinner open to public $10/adults & $8/children (10 years and under) at Washington St.Tent
  • 7pm-9pm: Johnny Kaye Orchestra at Washington St. Entertainment Stage. Everyone is invited

Thursday, June 24th: Victorian Days
Activities take place at the American Legion, Main St, and Washington St. Victorian costume dressing encouraged.
  • 12 noon-2pmChildren’s Teddy Bear Picnic at Illini State Park/CP’s Ice Cream. Up to 8 years of age welcome. Sponsored by CP’s Ice Cream/games by Marseilles Youth Program
  • 3pm-5pm: Vintage Wedding Dress Style show-Victorian Era to Present Day.  Sponsored by Elaine of Fantasy Costumes at the American Legion
  • 5pm-6pm: Ice Cream & Wedding Cake Social sponsored by “Pop’s on Main”.  Cake by Angelina’s Cakes & Catering at the American Legion directly following the Style Show
  • 5pm-8pm: Horse & Buggy Carriage Rides leaving Legion Parking Lot 5pm-6pm. Then departing from Knudson Park 6pm-8pm
  • 5:30pm: Registration for the”175th Bed Races”-registration required. 6pm Start time at North Main St.  Call Kathy at 815-795-2414 for more information

Friday, June 25th: Huck Finn/Tom Sawyer Days
Activities take place at the Marseilles Library, Twin Oaks Savings Bank, Broadway Park,
Knudson Park, Main St., Washington St, & Illini State Park Boat Dock Area & Main Shelter
  • 9am-5pm: Marseilles Library Book Sale & Ice Cream Sandwiches
  • 11am-1pm: Twin Oaks Savings Bank 120th Anniversary Customer Appreciation Cookout in the Picnic Area Behind the Bank
  • 1pm-3pm: Huck Finn/Tom Sawyer Games for Children at Knudson Park Potato sack races, tug-o-war games/Marseilles Youth Program
  • 3pm-6pm: Children’s/Teen’s Fishing Derby at Illini State Park Boat Dock Area. Prizes.  Must be under 16 years of age. Pre-registration encouraged, or register on-site at 2:30pm. First 100 registered will receive fishing prizes!
  • 5pm-7pm: Ducky Derby (5:30) at Illini St. Park Main Shelter/ Illinois River Area Chamber of Commerce. Hamburgers, Brats, Tenderloins for a fee
  • 5pm-8pm: Horse & Buggy Carriage Rides  departing Knudson Park
  • 5pm-9pm: Marseilles 175th Classic Car “Cruise-In” sponsored by Terry Bentz Buick on Main St.  & “Sock Hop in the Street” with “Boomin’ DJ”

Activities take place at Knudson Park, the Marseilles Library, Main St, Spicer Lane, & Washington St
  • 8:30am: 175th 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk. Sponsored by the Marseilles Rotary Club.
  • 7:30am Registration at Knudson Park $12 or pre-register ahead $10.
  • 8:30am Race Time. All ages welcome. Race will partially take place on the I & M Canal
  • 9am-12noon: Marseilles Library Book Sale & Ice Cream Sandwiches
  • 10am-5pm: Craft and Flea Market on Main St with "Period Demonstrators"/Marseilles Tourism & Parks Committee
  • 10am-2pm: Marseilles New Waste Water  Treatment Plant Tours/Spicer Lane
  • 11am-7pm: Inflatable Fun Rides on Knudson Park.  7 Rides for Children & Adults-FREE FOR EVERYONE ALL DAY LONG
  • 11am: American Idol Contest at Washington St. Entertainment Stage.  Contact Sandy Thomas at 815-795-3441. Must pre-register. Limited entries. Prizes

  • 4pm: “Brothers of the Brush” Beard Contest.  Judging Awards & Group Picture at Washington St. Entertainment Stage, sponsored by the Marseilles Rotary Club.  Everyone with facial hair welcome

Sunday, June 27th: Now & Forever Days Finale
Activities take place at Main St, Broadway St, Clark St, Sycamore St, Lions Club, & Pee Wee Diamond
  • 8am-Noon: American Legion   Pancake Breakfast
  • 11am-3pm: Craft and Flea Market with “Period Demonstrators” on Main St/ Marseilles Tourism & Parks Committee
  • 1pm: Parade kicks off from Marseilles Elementary School. Parade route will be:  Broadway St. East, to Main St. North, to Clark St. West, to Sycamore St.
  • 11am-6pm:  Marseilles Lions Club Chicken Fry.
  • 3pm: Cow Pie Bingo at the Pee Wee Diamond next to the Lions Club/ Beta Sigma Phi Sorority
  • 9pm/Dark: 175th Celebration FIREWORKS DISPLAY- View from Ball Diamonds/Pool/Lions Club

The Jesse White Tumbling Team will perform in the Marseilles Lions Club Parking Lot immediately following the parade

Students from the Marseilles Elementary School will be strolling the streets and appearing at various events throughout the week to tell a small story of Marseilles history during the past 175 years. The teacher in charge of this project is Michel Duchek. Period costumes have been donated by several families, and special thanks to “”Country At Heart Antiques”.
