Marseilles is a nice town, located along the Illinois River, and has many scenic locations not only in the Marseilles area but also within a short driving distance.
Marseilles has many of the conveniences within or in close proximity a large town has to offer but with the small town atmosphere.

Marseilles has a full time ambulance service with highly trained staff 24-7; 365 days per year.
The Marseilles Fire Protection District, another agency with highly trained staff that is paid on call covers the city of Marseilles and surrounding area.
The Marseilles Police Department is also staffed with trained and experienced officers here to serve you in the unfortunate event police service is needed.

The Marseilles City Council is assisted in their endeavor to making Marseilles a safe and progressive community, by the various boards that assist and give direction.  Community involvement is one of the means by which Marseilles maintains the small town atmosphere.

Marseilles Residents are fortunate enough to have a hospital within 5 miles of the city. The Ottawa Regional Hospital, an acute care medical facility, is located on the east side of Ottawa on Route 6 near the Fox River. With more than 80 physicians, surgeons and dentists on staff, Ottawa Regional Hospital offers expertise in a wide range of medical specialties and subspecialties. Physicians trained in emergency medicine staff a 24-hour emergency department, and the Family Birth Center features a Level II Nursery and educational programs for expectant families.
Ottawa Regional Hospital's Medical Services include inpatient and outpatient surgery, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, audiologist, rehabilitation services, respiratory care, pediatric cardiology and diagnostic services.  Ottawa Regional Hospital also has a new Medical Facility planned on the North side of the city, at Rutland Street & 11th Streets, to replace their aging facility on Clark Street.
Ottawa Regional Hospital offers a wide variety of health screenings, tests and an extensive program of home healthcare and special services designed for senior citizens. In addition, it provides a free transportation service for those who find it difficult to get to the hospital or to their doctor's office, provided they live within eight miles of Ottawa's city limits and their doctor serves on the hospital's medical staff. Other community services include Hospice, Lifeline, Mobile Meals and In Touch, which provide companionship to the homebound. The hospital also sponsors several support groups that offer self-help therapy without cost.
