If you want to prepare your own meals, you can find all the fixings and trimmings at our local convenience stores and supermarket. Marseilles has everything you need to make your trip to our city a successful and enjoyable stay.

Marseilles is the home of the Middle East Conflicts Memorial Wall.  It is the only Memorial in the entire U.S. dedicated to those service people who have lost their lives fighting in the Middle East wars. This beautiful  Memorial is located on the banks of the Illinois River in Marseilles and  is open twenty four hours a day, with night lighting and fountains. The Memorial has been named one of the seven wonders of LaSalle County, and Marseilles is very proud of it. When you visit Marseilles, please take a few moments to visit the memorial and  pay your respects to our fallen who have given the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Over the years, Marseilles has been called many things; City of Beautiful Churches, Best City by a Dam Site, The River City, just to name a few. Regardless of what we call it, our City is still a great place to live, work, play, and visit. It is still a vibrant, growing place full of great people who are ready to help and assist you when you visit us. Founded in 1835, Marseilles will be celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2010. Be sure to make plans now to join us for a week of festivities planned for June, 2010.

Thank you for visiting our website, and we are looking forward to seeing you in Marseilles.

Sincerely,
Mayor Jim Trager
